If you don’t have a furnace nearby, you can quickly make one using 9 of any stone-tier block and a Crafting Table. Place the 9 stone blocks (such as cobblestone) in a 3-by-3 square in the Crafting Table menu. There should be an empty square in the middle of the menu.
